Dear Church Family,
Grace and peace to you! From July 13–19, 2025, a dedicated group of 24 from our church (and friends) traveled to Northeastern Vermont for a week of mission and service, focusing on flood recovery and critical home repairs. This was our second year staying at Covenant Hills Christian Camp in Cabot, VT, and once again, it served as a peaceful home base for our team.
Our week was made possible by months of behind-the-scenes preparation—and we want to express our deep gratitude to Frank Denton (who was unable to join us due to illness) and Ron Miller, who is now in heaven and in our hearts, for their thoughtful and diligent planning, which began back in January. Your groundwork helped everything fall into place.
We were guided and supported throughout the trip by our work coordinator, Rob Parrette, who held us all together with wisdom, flexibility, and more than a few laughs along the way. Rob, thank you for being a steady and joyful presence across all five different worksites.
We also extend our thanks to our team leaders—Jim Wisniewski, Terry Jones, and Kurt Eichelberg—who led our three different teams with grace. Under their leadership, we tackled a wide range of projects, including installing metal roof trim, repairing and re-leveling home foundations (yes, we actually lifted a house!), working on porches, attics, basements, and more.
Throughout the week, our team was well-nourished, thanks to Robin Van Hausen and Beth Bohara, who ensured we were fed physically for the work. Thank you for your hospitality, snacks, and coffee each morning!
We give a special shout-out to Luke and Noah, our youth participants, whose youthful presence and commitment were inspiring to everyone on the trip.
Evenings were capped with times of devotion and reflection, and we would like to thank Art Nagel, Carol Alvarez, Jim Wisniewski, Heather & Luke Shipley, and Sam Roudebush for leading after-dinner devotions. Each of your stories was a powerful witness to God’s presence.
Finally, we are also grateful to all the families and loved ones back home who kept life running smoothly while we were away—tending to homes, offering support from afar, and praying for us throughout the week. We also acknowledge those who were not able to join us this year. You were all part of this mission, too.
Thank you, Church, for being a community that supports and celebrates God’s mission in the world—near and far.
With gratitude,
Yunki
